Creating music in The Sims 4: Fulfill your musical dreams within the game

If you've always dreamt of composing music and playing musical instruments but never had the chance to do it in real life, you can make your dreams come true in The Sims game.

The Sims is well-known for enabling players to engage in various activities and pursue different careers. One of these activities includes composing music and sharing it with others within the game's world.

What makes the game enjoyable is its realism. To create great songs, your character needs to practice and enhance their skills. They must acquire a specific instrument and practice regularly to make progress. To write a song, your Sim needs to reach skill level 8 for a particular instrument. This proficiency is instrument-specific, so mastering one instrument does not transfer to another. To play instruments beyond the piano, violin, or guitar, players can use mods or download expansions.

Once your Sim reaches level 8 in a specific instrument, you can select the 'Write Song' option that becomes available. You can then choose from various genre options, ranging from upbeat tunes to more somber melodies.

In the game, it takes approximately 12 hours to finish writing a song. Often, this means that the song won't be completed in one sitting. Players can pause and resume writing at their convenience. It's advisable not to start multiple songs simultaneously to avoid potential confusion and problems in the game.

After a song is finished, it can be added to the playable tracks collection. Licensing the song in the game allows Sims to turn their songwriting hobby into a source of income.
