Private Matches to be Added to Apex Legends

After two years around, Apex Legends is gearing up to introduce private matches, a highly anticipated feature that has been missing from the game. Respawn Game Director Chad Grenier has confirmed that the developer is currently testing private matches on a large scale, bringing it closer to reality sooner than expected. Despite the game's immense success, players have been longing for private matches.

Respawn Entertainment has already created a similar feature for organizing championships and official tournaments, which allows players to find each other for matches instead of relying on random matchmaking. Private matches will also be cross-platform, enabling players from PC to play against those on PlayStation or Xbox, and vice versa. While the core concept is ready, there is still work to be done to ensure smooth performance with millions of players.

Private matches as currently designed will enable players to create games with restricted access, limited to invited participants only. This feature is ideal for hosting private parties with close friends or organizing independent tournaments without the need for developer intervention. Overall, the addition of private matches will create a more welcoming environment in Apex Legends.
